Gipetto was a puppeteer of the highest ilk. if he pulled the arm string, the arm moved. pull the leg string and the leg moves. such is the nature of a puppet; there is a very specific and predetermined response to stimuli.
Pinnochio wanted to be a real boy, free of the ties that bind. he didn't believe in strings... silly boy!!!

I'm afraid your real enemy here, R, is nature. From the dawn of time man was the provider, woman the nurturer. Just like in the animal kingdom, natural instinct causes a drive in the male to get as much hunting & mating done as possible, and the female's instinct is for security & protection for the good of her offspring. (P.S. the color of the animal is irrelevant, people too.) While there are some who can deny this instinct, it is natural for a female to develop feelings of attachment, whether she wants to or not. She may not make these feelings known to you, knowing that they are not welcome, but she's highly likely to have them. There are environmental factors as well.. Most women were taught NOT to just go around randomly sleeping with people, both by society & at home. So even if they choose to do so, there is that part of them, maybe even subconsciously, that wants to be "in the right."
